COO and Life Sciences Senior Consultant

Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics, University of Cambridge-UK, 2002

During his Ph.D he worked at GSK's /Medicine Research Centre/ in Stevenage-UK on MAP Kinases and as a consultant until the end of 2002. As a Research fellow at CCDC he delivered the P2 project for the Pfizer Institute in Cambridge on pharmaceutical material sciences. In 2003 he joined Merck at the Research Institute of Molecular Biology in Rome working on viruses: SARS and HSV.

Dr Supekar has gained significant experience and expertise in the pharmaceutical sector focusing on structural biology and interactions between drugs and protein active sites. He has held many seminars and recently invited at the Area Science Park in Trieste to present a lecture on "From Genes to Drugs".

He has published in peer reviewed journals such as PNAS and EMBO J.

He is currently in charge of the Life Sciences section and R&D activities at ATA SpA focusing on Biomedical research and Biotechnology, benchmarking, technology foresight, analysis of competitiveness in the Biotech sector.
